I had plans for a jetski bottom drift boat. That way you buzz up river, float back to your boat trailer. But I think you'd get in trouble with the game and fish on some rivers.. I noticed on your video, your drift boat does not have any idenity numbers..(ie. license) good luck with that up here. Did you see the twin 45 hp's I put on the 1958 1/4" ply Lee Craft. All original, the way I tell it. It moves like your dory.

Hi Dave -- been wanting to get back to you with answer to your reply of my inquiry -- thanks for your advice about the Flathead below the dam and the upper Swan might be good floating venues. For this coming summer visiting daughters "cabin" at skidoo bay - don't know if I will fly the Bonanza to Polson or pull the newly built drifter/jet boat.
RE the two speed prop on the 172 - I want to say that I have heard about this kind of prop before, but don't know that I have ever been close to one. Some props are adjustable on the ground only.
You live in some beautiful country up there, I used to live in Kellogg, Idaho and have visited the Flathead and Kalispell area many times.
If you'd like to take a look at the boat I recently completed - go to youtube, and use - dons drift boat - in the search box. I think that will be my last boat project - time to enjoy the water. I have already added oarlocks, and have almost completed some 9-1/2 foot oars for the boat.
