Hey Kelly, the boat is looking fantastic. You and your dad are doing some really nice work. Deso is an amazing and special place, you should go as soon as you can. Permits are on a 6 month call ahead, prime days are cutthroat - just keep hitting redial and hope you get through. Runoff peaks in march or april, but fall trips are hard to beat. Deso is awesome for dories above 4000, and the bigger the better as far as I'm concerned. If you have the extra time, start from Ouray or Pariette and float the section above Sand Wash, just check in there on your launch date. Joe Hutch canyon flashed last year and tweaked the rapid, it's still pretty sharp and full of debris, a friend of mine has put two holes in his dory there in two trips. Fun!

Jeremy, This is a beautiful shot. I was wondering if I could bug u with a few questions?:
I've never done the Deso... what water level should I be looking for if I wanted to run a dory?
Are permits pretty tough to come by?
~Kelly (hoping my boat will be ready for the spring runoff!)
