Thanks for posting more pictures. They are giving me hope that I can actually build this thing.I will go to the lumber yard today to get the materials for the chine logs and shear rails. The yard has one of those $4.44 pick anything bins and there are a bunch of C clamps in it. I will ask Clint to order up more LOL. Better get to work and thanks.

They are great and I feel much better trying to fit the chines and shear rails after seeing your work. I went fishing this afternoon instead of working on the boat project. Caught one tiny crappie and I was cold the wx at 40 degrees and a north wind. Thanks for posting the pictures. I will pick up the fir strips next week and will try to buckle down on the boat.Paul Smith

Ok and thanks Andy, Your boat is pretty for sure. I thought it had to be an Ozark but did not want to say. I bought the plans last fall and have the frames built, the stem and stern all on and ready to fit the chine logs and shear rails. I have to pick up the materials for the rails and logs. My contact at the lumber yard has ordered in some 1/2 inch by 1 1/2 inch clear fir. I hope this bends ok. I tried to apply one of my ripped chine logs that I ripped from poplar and broke it.... If the fir does not work I will build a steamer. I would like to see any more pictures of your boat to dream of LOL thanks CUL Paul Smith

Thanks for the info. Your boat looks a little taller at the oar locks and mine has a little more rocker (and mine won't be as picture perfect as yours). I am building mine to fit on a rack over my pick up so I can tow my trailer behind. I am trying to keep it as light as I can without sacrificing some things I wanted as part of it. We will see - it has definitely gained weight from my initial thoughts but I still think it will work. Time will tell. Again thanks for the info. Jon

Thats cool you can run an 8hp short shaft on the boat... with that amount removed from the top of the transom is enough to keep the motor in the water then...good idea. I have a nice 8hp Johnson short shaft that I wouldn't mind popping on there to cruise around some local lakes here and there.
