Yes, I got up there quite a bit. The creek was nice and the ponds were unreal. It was fun to take beginners up there. There was another place, private ranch, I went to a bunch just off the Arkansas and down south of Leadville. Another great beginners place....Lots of fun.
Craig,
I worked for Gorsuch Outfitters in Edwards. That was 3 years ago. It was interesting but the cost of living and everything made it just a barely break even situation. I lived with a friend who moved there permanently.
I did fish the Colorado a bunch and drove over and tried the Blue. Had some great days on the Frying Pan. I decided not to go back due to the cost of living. I did not make enough to make it worth while. It was a good experience from seeing the country and meeting some great people.
Craig,
Thanks for the note. Yes, I live in Big Rapids, MI. I think you can get one of those frying pans from Cabela's. I haven't checked lately but they used to have them. You can actually fry 4 chickens at a time in one of them......
Haha thanks! I had to spend to time out there cleaning up and organizing before I even thought about working in there... That was half the work right there!
Agreed - refinishing is not as much fun as "finishing"... but it means you're out there usin it, right?? Gotta like that.
I got the idea for rubber matts from a restaurant - they used them behind the counter. They got them from a local company & I bought a couple & "customized" them. Great protection for the floorboards.
"Amen Brother"... God's country indeed. Let me know if you are ever back in the neighborhood - we'll go for a float. Mostly I spend my fishing and boating time on the Willamette & McKenzie... "home waters".
Are you in the process of building, "re-building", or just tinkering with the Tatman?

Hey Craig! Great to see another michigander on the forum. I am in the process of building a 17' Tatman right now...

Your photo shows great progress on your boat. Is it finished?
