- Completed building a McKenzie 17’x 54” wooden dory this past Spring 2021 using Don Hill drift boats plan, my first boat build! Became interested in building a dory after reading Roger Fletchers excellent book, Drift Boats & River Dories. I really enjoyed the project and now I am enjoying fly fishing with her! I would like to build another dory, which makes very little sense, but I am particularly interested in the Rogue River design that Briggs developed for Martin Litton to run the Grand Canyon and the Doryaks that Brad Dimock is building at Fretwater Boats, need to get a hold of those plans 😊
