Holiday Event at the Oregon State Capital to Feature the book

I and my book, Drift Boats and River Dories, will be one of the features at the Holiday Open House at the Oregon State Capital the evening of December 3, Wednesday. The event begins at 4:00 p.m. and concludes at 7:00. Other authors will include the likes of former Governor Betty Roberts (With Grit and by Grace), Steve Arndt (Roads Less Traveled), Gerry Frank (Where to Buy It, Find It, Eat It in New York) and Jerry McGee (A Long Way to Oregon). It will be a magical evening that features a 30’ decorated Grand Fir in the rotunda surrounded by a replica village of historic Salem, and an A.C. Gilbert Train. Music in the rotunda will include NW pianist John Nilson (4:00 p.m.), McNary High School choral (5:00) and Brad Hirsch’s Steel Band (6:00). The authors will be located just south of the rotunda in the main lobby. Munchies will be provided and wine tasting by Mia Sonatina Wine Cellars and Willamette Vineyards begin at 5:00. It is a lovely event. Bring your book for me to sign, buy one there, look over the other offerings, or simply come to enjoy the pleasantries of the evening.

By the way, Oregon’s sesquicentennial celebration next year (2009) will include a featured Oregon author each month of the year. I have been selected as one of the featured authors.
