My boat is pretty much a Roger Fletcher product. I built his model, read his book and had lunch with him to further pick his mind.
Have currently finished assembly of ribs, and milled all 16' Ash to size. When i manage to get my workshop up to 60 I will epoxy ribs-they are Alaskan Yellow Cedar. Trim is Oregon Ash. Stem is whie oak and transom is Honduran Mahogany.

I built a table saw jig for scarfing the ash to cut a 12:1 angle to reach the long lengths( it came in 10' length) . Epoxy seems to hold well and mill nicely. The ash was 1" rough. The Cedar came rough 1 by 6. After a good bit of experimentation, I built a scarfing jig for the plywood by inlaying a 2in metal strip from TruValue onto 3/4 ply and used Gorilla Glue to assemble so it filled all cracks giving me a nice square edge. I use an electric planer to cut stairsteps and then smooth with a random orbit sander. Worked nicely in test. Will soon start on big pieces! Will add pictures as soon as I figure out how to add them to this !

Packard, thanks for the progress report. It's always fun to hear how people are making things happen.
To add a photo to your blog simply click on the little picture icon that is in the menu right above your edit screen. It looks like this:

Then click on the browse button and find the picture you want to add on your computer and follow the instructions in the dialog boxes. It should be easy.

If not,l send me an email. I could post a couple of blogs to point out how to get started posting photos, videos, and other.
