Event Description
The Hanna Platte, my pine Rapid Robert drift boat will be floating The Upper Colorado from Pumphouse to State Bridge on August 13th. Any other wooden boats are welcome to join in as we float this 14 mile stretch of class 2/3 water. We will be camping 8/9 miles into the float and floating the final 5 miles on Sunday. Feel free to join in overnight or float it all in one day. There is a take out at the 10 mile mark for those who can only float one day. I will be at the put-in (Pumphouse) at 9:00 and will launch by 10:00 am.

As for shuttles, you can call Rancho Del Rio 970-653-4431 or try to figure one out with whoever shows up. I will likely be running around like a chicken with my head cut-off that morning and Pumphouse will be a madhouse by 10:00 am. We will be doing some type of shuttle running 3 boats with trailers down to State Bridge, but I can't say when or how. See you all up there.

River is currently running at 7,100 cfs but is now starting to come down ( was 9,100 cfs last week). Hopefully flows continue to drop and you guys can make it. There is an option of floating the 14 mile stretch from State Bridge to Catamount if river levels are to high for safe open drift boat runs. I'll be up there rafting this week and will get a feel for the river at this big flows and how my woodie might handle them, but for now I'm taking the rubber.
