Bo's under floor board anchor system

Does anyone have photos and info on installing Bo's system. Placement/measurements of pullys on transom, height and size of holes in ribs? I'm not going to use any PVC pipe, just run rope through ribs. Any good ideas on attaching foot release to bottom/ribs? How high up the transom should the hole be? I assume this is all critical to how the anchor will ride.

Randy and Sandy have some photos of this installation.

My anchor is 2/3 from the bottom up to the top of the transom. Lower is nicer, less yawing in the current.
I don't use an arm for my anchor either, I just reinforce my transoms with sacrificial plywood plates.

Holes in the ribs- I don't recall, but 5/8 to 3/4" will suffice, providing you use a 3/8" rope. Good move on not using pipe. I didn't use pipe either, for the freezing factor in the winter. Words of wisdom from Sandy.

To attach the foot release to the floor- sandy has some pics. I might have a pic or two on my blog- take a gander int he archives from may 2009. I can't remember. www.thtchronicles.blogspot.com

Thanks Dave, checked out your site, good pictures. So did you bore a hole in the brace that holds the foot release you built and through the rib ? I didn't see a hole for the rope in the picture. I'm going to put a piece of HMW on the transom. I don't have an arm either, just a pully on the back.

Here's a photo of my setup of the Bo's release system on Woody, my little 14' double-ender. It's an easy retrieve and the releaase sits just above the floor board when evertything is together. The only problem with the floor release is an accidental release. I always tie a half-slip hitch just above the release to prevent such an accident, and the sklip knot gives way at the slightest touch when I want to release the anchor. Also attached is a photo (you'll have to look closely) of the release lever above the floor slats, and a photo of the of the line, pulleys and exit through the stern post. Dave is right about reducing yaw.

Drill a hole through the seat, I epoxyed the back of the seat because over time the water from anchor rope damaged the surface lamenation.

Thanks Stephen, I'm as green as they come to boat building. I just joined this site a few days ago and I've spoken with Randy about the right boat for me. So this summer you'll probably be seeing me post a lot of dumb questions as I get into this project. Thanks for the tip on the seat. I hadn't thought about the water from the rope on the seat. I just hope my future 16.5x48 low profile comes out half as nice as some of the boats I've seen on here. If all goes well in 2012 we will have a wooden boat on the Pere Marquette in Michigan. The pic roger has is the old aluminum base version, which I still think exists. The Dierks system which is the same/similar cam foot release does not have an aluminum base. So basically, you have to build one out of wood and screw it to the frames. I did indeed drill a hole through mine, then through the frames.

I have used "Bo's anchor system" for years. I like it I use the flexable pvc and feel a sharp knife could cut right through it in an emergency.  Do remember to knot the end of your anchor rope or you will eventually leave an anchor on the bottom.

I recently purchased a Bo's anchor system.  I gave Bo some measurements (distance between ribs and height of ribs) and he welded one to fit my boat.  I drilled an angled hole in the aft rib and ran the anchor rope directly to the existing transom pulley which is about in the middle of the transom.  Simple and works great.  The rope is exposed, but no one rides behind me, so I am not concerned about a tripping hazard and I just do day fishing trips, so do not need the aft area for storage.
