50/50 boiled linseed oil and turpentine with a dash of Jap drier.  Can add some pine tar to darken the mix if you like.  Some folks will use different mix ratios and perhaps some tung oil.  It's all good but be sure to wipe up any excess that the wood does'nt want to absorbe or you will have a sticky mess.

Whats the purpose of Jap Drier? I used just linseed and turp with success. Just curious.

Also, is Jab Drier available everywhere, or is it a specialty thing?

Japan Drier will increase the cure rate of finishes.

Linseed oil will often stay sticky if any excess is not removed.  The drier helps prevent this.

Gotcha. So not a must, but makes things easier.
