This boating upset occurred on the Upper Kern at about 400 cfs in my local area. I was simply an observer.
As I looked at the pictures, I was wondering how to recover the boat.
My my thought was to move the bow (pointy end) upstream (ropes and winches) until the bow was facing upstream. Hopefully, the bow would lift to allow water to drain downstream and the incoming water could cease.
The difficulty would be most of the upstream side in under water. The movement would have to be controlled to keep the boat from going upside down.
I have never had to deal with a situation like this. The forum has lots of experience. Hopefully, I and the other forum readers could learn something.
The local Whitewater Rescue safely removed the passengers. Boat recovery was left to the owner.
