So what would be your first thought if your boating buddy, who forgot his lead rope and instead runs the anchor rope through the eye-hook before I shove the boat off the trailer, and the boat slithers to the center of the Nestucca, oars shipped and ready to go, and my boating buddy is standing there with the end of the anchor rope he forgot to tie off in his hand? For anyone interested, I’ll share the rest of the story at the Boat show Saturday. It’s a knee slapper.

My first and only thoughts would be..............start swimming! And hurry up!!
that stuff never happens. And none of my friends has EVER had to take a swim in the Clark Fork.

My thought would be that you have read my mind & seen my fears regarding my 1st trip (when it finally happens...)! Since I won't be there for the festival I look forwardto seeing the story in print here!
I have witnessed something similar- a guy launching a 20' center console with a 175hp outboard and the buddy drops the line as it shoots off the trailer- and they forgot to put the plug in! Strong swimming saved the day. Jack Daniels may have been invoved.
Once loaned a saddle to a buddy who proceeded to ride his horse off a cliff into a 800' canyon. He grabbed onto the only available tree and came walking back into camp white as a sheet.
My response: Haul your ass back up there and come back with the saddle on your back! Works the same with boats.
Got any Pics? Gotta be priceless if you do, eh.

I'd call Steve Steele and him build me another, billing it to my "buddy."
