I did check with a tape measure at each bulkhead station to make sure I had the width right. I had drawn the shape of the floor with a pencil using a paper pattern then trued it with a batten stick. Once I had the sides pinned down to the floor with screws and fender washers, I dropped a couple of the bulk heads in loose to make sure I was on the right track. I also put in three spreaders at gunnel height to make sure my side flare was close. One at the front bulk head, one at the oar lock and one at the stern bulk head. All the bulk heads went in pretty easy except the front one which defines so much of the boat shape. It took a lot of work to get it right. Cheers Derek

Building same boat currently. Did you tack your floor to hull prior to putting in any BHs to check fit?
