I am currently building a 16,9 briggs dory from plans I acquired from Andy. I was curious if any one could provide me with pics of dory with a fully covered back deck. I am looking for ideas on how…Continue

Board Feet needed for drift boat ribs?

I am just about to place an order from East Fork lumber in Myrtle Point, OR. I am buying lumber for hatch landings and frame work for a briggs dory. I am going to need 30-40 board feet for this boat.…Continue

" I did check with a tape measure at each bulkhead station to make sure I had the width right. I had drawn the shape of the floor with a pencil using a paper pattern then trued it with a batten stick. Once I had the sides pinned down to the…"

"Matt, Your welcome. The main reason I went with this blade to start with was I didn't want to mess up my finish blade. It is defiantly not the funnest part of a boat build."

"Thanks for the photo, it was a huge help! I started with a 1/8 kerf finish blade but it was chipping/tearing the rubber really bad.  Then I remembered seeing this photo, the thin kerf circular saw blade did the trick and left clean cuts with no…"

"Rick, Yeah we launched March 1st, 21 days to Diamond. She was named Pearl and christened at Lee's Ferry. It was one amazing shack down cruise! What a joy it is to row a Dory in Grand Canyon. I plan on bring her to the boat show next month. "

"Cool thanks.  I'm going to add the rubber but didn't have a source after Nott Atwater closed shop.  I put a pretty good hole in the side of my boat at Nevill's last month and want some additional chine protection."

"Yeah I used a hand router for the top round over which went really easy. Then I sent it through the table saw at a 32 degree bevel. That part was not so easy! You want as many feather boards as you can put on there, two people, one pushing one…"
