Rick,

I'm actually surprised that these things work as well as they do.  I used two of them.  One on the front right, the other on the back left. They both have hinges underneath so you can unhook them with one hand.  in retrospect, I should have used one for each leg for asthetic purposes, but stainless gets pricey.   The chair is rock solid, though.

No, Ben.  A 'generous' offer would be, "I'll send you a case of your favorite beer and a new fly rod."  not giving you a couple pieces of squiggly plywood.  :)

removable ones, huh?   are we talking removable as in no fasteners?   That might be interesting..

Ben

Ben,  if you want a couple of rod holders just ask!  Seriously.   I made them out of some 1/4" scrap Hydrotech ply and oiled them up.  I've still got the pattern.   It only took me 15 mins to cut them out on the scroll saw.  I admit, I MAY have borrowed the design from Boulder Boat Works..

Ha! It's a very technical piece of equipment, Rick. Okay, okay. It's just a black piece of foam that I used to protect the gunwales from the ratchet clamps.

Michael, I have to agree, the rod holders are fantastic! On the left front base of the seatthe mechanism to provide tension and keep the seat in place is fantastic. The floorboards are killer, but what is the black tube on the starboard side behind the seat?

Wow- look at those rod holders! Jealous. (now we need an artistically inclined beer holder though)
