First steelhead in the boat. Notice the fish wacker I made out of purple heart to match the gun whales. It works great!

This is actually the Salmon River near Riggins. I do have the handles varnished, but I didn't have any trouble with sore hands. I'll keep it in mind though. Thanks for the tip.

Nice job on the restoration. Makes me wish I had kept my last Keith Steele. Are the fish pictures from the Grand Ronde? I have been there a couple of times and had great success both times. Beautiful country and beautiful fish. Enjoy the boat. One question though, are the handles on your oars varnished???? If so you may find that you will get blisters from them. I had that problem years ago and an old timer told me to scrape the varnish off the handles. I did and no more blisters.....
