"The 2 straight shafted Freestyle paddles were commissioned by a Florida collector.  They are built from African wood species Gabon Ebony and Pomelle Sapele; named the “African Beauty IV”.  The single paddle was built on speculation from Eastern Red Cedar and Basswood from my Dad’s farm in St. Lawrence County, NY.  It’s a 5 degree bentshaft S-Blade called the “Red Beauty IV”.  The Freestyle paddles are nearly twice as expensive as the S-Blade due to materials cost and the labor required to fill all the checking in the wood with black glue." ~Philip Greene
