"Just realized you posted this. The late Dan Sutherland featured in the upper right corner of this photo was my neighbor for many years. Somewhere I have photos of Rushton rowing and sailing canoes he built that I stored for a while. "

"I didn't recall Pat II, so I checked the FLBM website.  The PatII, at 39 feet, is an impressive launch.  It will grand when she is floating again.  One topic on interest was an early inboard/outboard setup.  I thought my 58…"

"These are distinctive boat designs.  I last saw them when the boating museum was sharing space at the Curtiss Wright Museum.  Glad to see them again."

John Homer replied to Charles Schelin's discussion I am looking for a light wood to make oars.
"oars%202.jpg We use soft maple here. It has a lot of flexability and you can this down the loom to about 1 1/4""

John, I thought I was looking at an Adirondack Guide Boat. I have seen a few in Wooden Boat magazine and on Wooden Boat Forum. Your craftmanship is very meticulous. I like the way your ribs join and overlap. The quality of your finish work is exquisite. What do you use?

I would enjoy rowing you guideboat but it would have to be simply so I could appreciate your craftman ship and the beauty of the design. My next boat to build is a 1927 Veltie Pruitt designed Board And Batten driftboat. I am hoping to finish my boat ASAP, I am still in hospital but should be home within the hour.
