Hey Rick, thanks for comments. I experience the tenaciousness of 5200 as well, will not be using it on anything that may have to be removed in future. Not sure how much the 1/2 by 16' pannels are, I did get some samples sent to me the scarf joints look awsome, and A grade faces look good. Not sure of all the ins and outs as it is a product that I can't find anyone using it. I did find a referance to it in Ian Outred's book. As well as alot of Larch referance in Wooden Boat magazine archives. I use it alot in building log houses, its tougher than hell and fairly rot resistant. I like the thought of it being local. I will let you know as I get more info.
My uncle, aunt and boat all moved to Pt. Townsend-30 years ago, he built several power boats after the sail boat. The sail boat lives in my memory. I would love to see it again- she was named C'est La Vie.
I to would like to meet you some time on the rivers. I fish the Kootenai a fair amount-you working with Dave Blackburn? Love the Clark Fork and Lower Flathead-too many rivers and so few days to float them. I have a mother and brother who live in Spokane, as well as lots of relatives-get over there 3-4 times a year.
Best, Doug
