Hi Tom - I completed this project just recently.  I designed the stations of the frames to accomodate the motor and pump that I removed from a Yamaha 760 waverunner.  I started with a conventional flat bottom like a drift boat, then I added a 7 degree V-bottom under that with seven layers  of glass with an outer layer of Kevlar. This helps to prevent skidding in turns.  It skips along at 47mph and with the 13gal gas tank its good for about fifty miles on the rivers.  Will include a picture here, also a youtube link of a video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkQLEVY5tyY Let me know if you want more details.  Don in Paradise, CA

Tom, there is great discussion on those sleds and several examples of completed sleds. Check it out with our search function.

You should look at the Glen-L site at the following designs:

Rogue Runner

Jet Setter

Have fun!  I have also considered building one of these!  Looks like a blast.
