Dave's Pickup Pram- FREE PLANS!- REV2-FIXED

Guys,

There was a big error on the frames in version 1.  I got out the boat and the models and my drawings and cannot figure out why I drew the information I did!  regardless, it is fixed now and you should be good to go.  I built another manilla folder model just to verify...

That's cool! Love free plans. I have few buddy's that might like to make one of these. Only thing that thing needs is a sweet camo paint job and a blind. Check out my buddy yancys setup in his boat

Dave, thanks for  sharing. did you leave the bottom at 40" and the top width at 50"? also when you did the water test were you able to stand up and cast? also looks like the bottom is all flat with no rocker. all in all how did the pram perform? thanks.

when I get a chance to build this I am going to build it SoF and powered by a stern paddle wheel. it will be used in lakes as I will be sitting and trolling so don't need to stand. the skin will be ballisitic nylon on a WRC frame. yep, there will be oars too. I will have to redo the back transom to a different angle for the PW. it will be light to throw up on my car. a fun project. thanks Dave.

hello everyone, I was building a scale model of this and it did not come out anything like the photo.  Can some one please tell me, I understand the inch measurements however I am concerned about the degrees...am I missing something?

I can't figure it out either. the boat is smaller then I thought Dave was going to do. the width. or maybe I am missing something too.

umm.. I hate to say this, but maybe there is an error in the plans?

I remember Dave saying this boat was going to be 40 inches or so wide in another thread. Look at the verbiage here: http://westcoastwoodenboats.ning.com/forum/topics/dave-s-new-drift-...

But when you look at the plans linked above, it really does not reflect that. Maybe there is a typo?

Guys,

let me check to see if there is an error.  quite possible.  I know when i initially drew it up, modelled it, then built the real thing it changed a little.  i re measured, redrew, then built a model myself to check it out.  i might have something messed up.

Dave, that looks better. how does it handle and can you stand up in it to cast? I probley wouldn't worry about it as I will be trolling and sitting but I may want to stand and cast. thanks.

I am going to build a scale rep tonight and hopefully start working on building it right after Christmas!

 

What method did you use to put yours together?  I have use PL and screws before and I would like to try stitch and glue as well.
