Hi Dreu, lots of choices, bronze, stainless, 1/2" OR 5/8" shafts, long or short, round or horned...Sawyer has the 2 sizes, somewhere on this site I saw the stainless ones. I looked at a bunch couldnt decide what to go with myself, I ordered a pair from Clacka over a week ago, yet to get them. Suppose to be here tomorrow so I`ll post a pic. Hope it wasnt a mistake. The bronze are suppose to be a little bit adjustable on the ID to fit the locks to the oar shafts. First time for me so I dont know what I`m doing :)

Nice fish pic!!

thanks, mike.I look foward to hearing from you

try a search for oar locks from the Helfrich guides on this site, hand built 5/8 stainless steel welded oar locks,I dought anyone will ever break one while rowing, but they have enough give that the oar could escape under very high stress as would be desired.

yep, thats where I saw that about the stainless was doing a search. Its a wonder I havent wore out the search engine on this site over the last year!!!

So I got some locks in the mail today, super heavy duty bronze, 5/8" shafts, 2 5/8" opening with some clips. $54+shipping. I`m kinda ashamed to say I got them from a place that makes fiberglass boats. EEEK I said the "F" word!!

those will be perfect;and good price too. No shame in finding what you need, even if you have to shop rubber raft suppliers

those look good.pass along where you got them exactly on this site or e mail. Thanks mike! Also are you putting any sleeves in for those shafts?

couldnt get the link to post so I emailed it to you, but I got them from clackaboats.com. Was about the best price I have seen.

I have rowed both bronze and stainless.  Stainless is the only choice if you are rowing big water;  they will not spread.  They are a lot more expensive.  I think I have a pair or two of bronze I would give away if someone can figure out how to pay the shipping.

Hi David Iwould gladly alleviate you of those bronze oar locks and would send shipping and packing costs by check or Paypal let me know .
Thanks
Marty

I'll check in the rubble of my boat shed this afternoon to see if I can find them.  I'd be happy to have you find use for them.

Marty,

I found two sets.  One appears to be about 2 1/2" wide ID, and the other about 2 3/4".  Which are you interested in?  You will need to get me contact info.  Call @ 541 896 3395.

David
