Hello Group...
I went over to the Deschutes for the Salmon fly hatch last week and had quite an adventure in my drift boat made of wood.  It was my first trip through White Horse and it was quite an experience.  For the blog post... I'll send you to the Caddis Fly -http://oregonflyfishingblog.com/2010/06/08/high-adventure-on-the-sp...
Here was the view from the RR tracks above the river... this is not my boat...

that is a great story, i would probably cry if i saw my boat going through that rapid by itself.
many tears shed on that rapid... just read on WestFly blog that three boats went down at White Horse in that 48 hour stretch where the river was rising and the wind was blowing... we were luckier than we deserved or better than we thought.....

Greg, I think I'd like you to rub the next lottery ticket I buy! Woodja?
It would be a pleasure - but I think we used up all our luck on that trip... there were several "adventures" within the "adventure". I'm getting ready to start working on the Portola re-build... I need to come up and "chat" a bit...

Save for family visiting 6/18 - 6/28 i'm close to the shop through july. And i'll have my lotto ticket handy . . . I think you have more "luck" to come.
These boats are always tugging on the lines. Down, down down, they just wanna be free!
yup... that boat has a lot of "spunk" (and an independent streak). Ha Ha. Funny - it stopped running mid-way through the rapid - must've seen the downed boat and had a change of heart.

Greg,

You are truly charmed with the funniest of times...

Cheers, Robb
