Fresh off the Rogue Adventure, I guided author, speaker, and fly fishing fanatic Charlie Bing who was in the area holed up in a cabin on local river writing a new book.  He's an elegant caster and he really really wanted to catch a steelhead on the fly.  I was happy to oblige in my little wooden boat.  It was his first steelhead and I almost blew it for him with a wood net that turned into a trampoline.... ha ha

Greg,

Yep, a bigger net. Such a problem we should all have to deal with. Good on you for the re-netting. Whew.

My friends at Brodin Nets are making me a bigger one.... ha ha.  We were very lucky to get a second chance to net that fish.

Good save Greg!

your boat always looks so wonderful in your videos.  Nice work man.

Thanks Dave... the boat is a good fit for these steelhead.  I have more fun than my guests - particularly when the fish stays in the net (I get sick watching the video of that fish flipping out of the net ... the funnier angle would've been from the boat - I practically went swimming to net that fish the second time).  ha ha
SWeet!
Thanks Terry !!

Greg, there is this little store chain in Eugene and Springfield.   It is named BiMart.  You might have crossed paths in an earlier life.  Anyway, they sell nets big enough to be worthy of a steelhead or salmon.  See you out there.  I think Monday on the McKenzie will be my last steelhead float in Lane County for the year.

David

I've heard of it... ha ha.  I like the nets that make the steelhead look bigger - until the steelhead jumps out of course!!  Brodin is making me a bigger net.  Steelhead are still out there brother - I'll be fishing for them until the rivers "blow".  See you on the water....
