Recoment talking to Greg first, ask him why his plans/kit is better;then compare apples to apples. Goo d luck keep us posted. Oh yah, look at every boat on here if You have the patients. It will give You a better idea of your likes and dislikes

I'm almost done with a 17' Don Hill Fly Fisher--my first build. I did it all from scratch, I've loved the project, used this site and Fletchers' book judiciously. I've got a 1200 sq ft shop with bitchin tools. All in all, if I had it to do again I'd buy a Tatman kit. Beautiful boats, you'll spend more time fishing, and considering the time/cost of money I believe the costs are in the same ballpark.

If you're committed to a do it all yourself project you have the bible and don't need any other plans. A friend of mine is building the 16' double ender with transom right out of the Fletcher book and the project is going smoother than my Don Hill.

Either way, you're in for a great project, good luck.
