I'm new to this site, hoping for some advice as to what I have.
I have a boat that was left in the barn behind my house many years ago, it has stumped all that have come to see it. I personally have very little boat experience, so I don't know where to look for identifiers of its make. It isn't a jet style boat, it has a propeller. I have a motor that came with it, but I've been told it is of a different vintage.
Odd things I noticed about the boat is the rounded "chines" and fiberglass bottom with wood upper portion. Also the lift eyelets seem to be an old piece, the shaft driven steering and steering wheel center mounted throttle seem old as well.
It has gray marine gauges to match.
The motor is a 46-49 Gray Marine phantom four-75 with transmission.
I'm pretty stumped, I was going to sell it but have no idea what to call it.
Any info would be helpful.
Thank You in advance

Billy: I suggest you go to the WoodenBoat Magazine Forum. There are loads of people that have knowledge on older boats of all types- power, sail. Some of these oldtimers might be a real help. You might have a boat that would be an antique and worth restoring
Good Luck- you may have a "gem"
Hi Billy, could you post a shot of the whole boat? It "looks" Chris-Craft-ish." How do the access dorrs to the motor area open? Yes, this is a special boat! And thank you for sharing! Have fun with this, yours, tom
That lift ring is certainly similar to Chris-Craft lift rings.
These are the pictures I have now, I'll take more once I pull it out of the barn.
and more pictures
Thanks for the extra photos Billy. Looks like a Chris Craft to me, but what do i know. Maybe it was one of the four Chris Craft that went through Grand Canyon in 1951 on the Marston Grand Canyon Motorcade trip? Who knows... anyway, you have an incredible project on your hands!! WAHOO!
