I think this is my new project for 2012.

I saw these in the Grizzly catalog and thought, "piece of cake!" I can do that!

I had the opportunity to fish Presque Isle bay this summer on lake erie off one of these platforms (in plastic).  I was a riot.  Basically we pushed these planks around with a bamboo pole and fly cast to carp and bass.  I sure would like a wood one. kids had fun with it too.

The construction is a balsa stringer with "frames" at stations to define the rocker.  its practically a simplified plank built boat.

Plank it, glass it, and go float it.  looks fun.

How stable was it Dave?  Could the imbalanced among us handle it?

I rode a watersports, plastic stand up in 12'.  I was flycasting from it out to 80 feet.  pretty darn stable on calm water.

i took it over to the lake side with a paddle and you could ride waves in with it.  lots of fun, but plastic= no class.

haha

Did it have a skeg (Ithink thats the right term) or nothing on the bottom?

it had a small fin.

Aw, c'mon, Dave. This is what you need. Ha. Ha. : )
