For all you Northwest Boaters headed for the Rogue Wild and Scenic this year, here is "the line" at Blossom Bar.  Great pics by Rick Allen, Scott Vollstedt, and my son Daniel.... special thanks to Jim Coffee for the great aerial photo's of Blossom.

This Class IV should be scouted before running and the line may vary with the water level and the conditions.  Our path on this run worked - water level was about 1,500 out of Grants Pass and there were no obstructions in the rapid.

Please be careful on this one!!

Some great shots of Blossom.  When I first went down the Rogue it was rather low.  I hit a rock on the pour off next the Picket Fence.  Stern bounced off of it as I went through.  Those were some low water years.

Lots of great memories.  There were some ugly boils that would shoot you off in the wrong direction if you were not careful.  I wish I could find some of those pictures from the early 70's.

Willie had just started Alumaweld and we all had his boats at the time.  At least most of us.  Kenny Jones from Springfield, had his Keith Steele and would give us nothing but grief.  He would say "Herbert, when are you going to get rid of that spam can and get a real boat."

We stayed at Upper Black Bar, then Half Moon bar, so Blossom was always in the afternoon.

ha - would love to see some pics from the 70's.  That Wild and Scenic stretch of river is just hard to beat... I never get tired of it.  That Picket Fence is a beast!!
