So we went steel head fishing this weekend and came across a wood boat on the river... It was relatively quiet out there, only a few boats came through while we fished, but one of them happened to be this one. The guy who owned the boat (Mike) told me they built it from Don Hill plans about 5 years ago.
Anyways - we don't see tons of wood drifters on the river so I took a few pics and chatted it up with the owner, who happened to be a guide (who's client nailed a nice brown trout while we talked boats).

So what river were you on Jason? The PM?
Yes - we fished the PM upstream from the Sulak launch...
how did you do?
We managed a few decent browns... I lost the only steel I hooked after a few seconds.
Fun weekend to be out though - looking to go this coming week again...
be sure to check the reports before you leave. its been raining a lot over the past 4-5 days on this side of state. Wish I could make it back to the PM, yet I am way to busy this time of year.
