Oar Lock Block Placement for a Dersham 17x52 Low side Converable Drift Boat

Just finishing up after 2 years and down to subject question.  I am 6'1" and have a 33/34' arm reach.  I've tried the standard 10"  in front of rower seat  but that  won't work with the lateral CG shift of displacement for sliding rowers and foward sliding seats.  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!  Be nice to get this in the water before fall!!!  Andy

I was impressed with this setup, covers a wide range.

The question with any rule of thumb, as in "10 inches in front of the rower's seat" is whose thumb are we talking about.  My boat was set up around a different rule of thumb - oarlock 15" in front of the rower's seat.  I'm 6'1" with longish arms and that distance has worked well for me.

Well Ive just re set my  locks 14" fwd of seat front. On good advice from my  trainer. cant wait to get back out on the river.  I got to paint up the blocks/boat than do some more training. See ya on the Mckenzie soon .  Iam 5'6 short arms.  LEE

P.S. The old setting was 10 " a bit tight
