Hello all.  I'm pretty excited about my new drift boat.  I'm really not sure what make it is, but I've been searching the forums here for similar boats.  I know its almost impossible to tell the maker on some boats, and that many were of course home-built.  But, I noticed one detail on mine that seems a little different . . .

It appears as if there was another spacer between gunwhales at some point, just behind the cross-brace where the knee braces would attach.  I've seen reference in some of the forum discussions here to a removable cross-brace for guides who used to stack their boats.  In fact, there's one discussion I saw started by Kevin Kay on Nov. 28, 2011 that shows one possiblity for what mine might have looked like.

Link to discussion here:  Cross-Brace Photos

My boat (photos below) has holes in the gunwhales just aft of the cross brace.

Any ideas?

Hello . . .

Just bumping my previous post.  I might have focused on the wrong question in my original post.

What I'm really wondering is if anyone knows the story behind the style of cross-brace on my boat.  It looks as if there should be another short piece directly behind the cross-brace.

As a side note:  can anyone direct me on how to embed photos directly into the post so I don't have to force everyone to 'link' to them?

Thanks,
Tom

Tom, the icon next to where the "Link" icon is shown will do that job. When you are doing your post click on that and place the link within it. You may have to edit what you enter to get it to work right. Try posting it and if it doesn't show up use the edit function that's available for fifteen minutes to fix the issue. You can choose from left, right, center and the amount of "padding" or space around the outside of your picture, perhaps 10 or 20 pixels to space it away from a second picture. The picture below is 200 pixels and has no padding. Post again if you have an issue, I'd be glad to help.

Thanks Rick . . .

Just finally got back to life here and tried the photo posting.  Worked great, but I think that was what  tried last time.  Thanks.
