Dave Helfrich

Dave Helfrich passed away peacefully early this morning.  Dave was the eldest of Prince Helfrich's sons, and lived a long life on the McKenzie.  Dave guided into his 80's, always in a wooden boat.  He was as skilled a boatman as I have seen.  He was a passionate defender of the McKenzie River.  He will be missed by his family, and by so many neighbors, guides, and clients.  He taught so many so much.

I never knew any of the Helfriches but have certainly known of them for many years. It's sad to hear of his passing. Condolences to family and friends.
