Hey guys,

I have been slowly working on this boat and thought I would share a few pics of the progress. Thanks for the guidance thus far Dave! A few details of the build so far:

• CVG Doug Fir Framing

• Meranti Sides

• Fiberglass bottom (done the same way as my previous boat with a rounded bottom edge wrapped in glass then chine cap applied to restore hard chine edge - let the debates begin lol)

I think this boat will be painted... not sure yet.

Here are a few random pics I have taken along the way. More to come once the boat gets turned over and the interior work gets going.

Let me know what you think.

Nice work Jason. Don't you just love the look of a nicely cut scarf? You are going to like this little boat on your home waters.

AJ

Jason, I have agree wholeheartedly with AJ, you do make a nice scarf. It is almost a work of art to see. Good luck on the epoxy.

Thanks guys. I used my little block plane and a sanding block on the scarfs. Messed up my first attempt at them though. The second try was better.

Weird question Jason: What's the masking tape along the bottom of the frames and along the sides do?

AJ and Rick are right to point out that your scarf joints look really nice. She's going to be neat when she's finished.

Thanks!

The tape is to help with cleanup of the 5200 used to attach the bottom.

Looking good Jason! How did that saw blade work out for ya, keep forgeting to ask. I like that you taped off the frames and chine before using the goo, really helps with the clean-up on a oiled boat

The saw blade is awesome. I used an 80 tooth finish blade for most of my cuts on the table saw. I am sold on the Orion blades.

Very nice, glad you like them. Keep up the good work!

Transom(s) trim and chine caps are on.

I also installed a drain plug this morning and will do the subsequent coats of epoxy today.

If I may ask, how did you prevent the graphite/epoxy mix (I am assuming that is the black color) from covering the drain plug bolts? it is a lovely detail! she is going to be a beauty!

Andreas

Thanks!

The subsequent flow coats of black epoxy did end up covering the screws.

Where can I buy that style drain plug?  Great looking boat!!!
