I've been lurking here for years, admiring all the great craftsman and their boats. I've been chasing steelhead from Alaska to the Great Lakes for the past 30 years and have fished out of many jet sleds and drift boats. During that time I have never found anything as nice as a wooden drift boat and have always wanted to own one. As of last Saturday I became the owner of my first wooden boat. A beautiful little pram built by Jason Knight. Plans are to spend many hours on the Muskegon in Michigan with her. Being such a novice I'm sure I will have many questions about the care of the boat and ideas of a few little things I'd like to add. Thank you Jason. Robert00g0g_ddtgIv48ww9_600x450.jpeg

She is a beauty!
Thanks Rick, I guess I need to learn how to post pics here. My next chore is to modify a boat trailer. Drift boat trailers and hard to come by here in the Great Lakes. So I plan on taking a small boat trailer and adding a rear roller and a front bunk to haul the pram on. Rob
To post the picture I first located the file so I could find it. In your case I copied it to the desktop. Then I clicked on the small icon above the box where I am currently typing. It is just to the right of the small icon that says "LINK". That will open a box that reads: "ADD IMAGE". You can choose from FROM MY COMPUTER or FROM A URL. In my case I chose FROM MY COMPUTER and clicked on the Browse button and went to the file Desktop where I then clicked on the appropriate picture file that I wanted to post. A double click started the process of copying the picture so it could be posted on the website server.
When your picture will be posted it will be full sized and there will be no clear margin around it because I didn't select any "padding." I can chose to post the picture to the left right or centered on the page. I could also make a picture larger or smaller based on the width in pixels that I select.
Click okay and the picture will be copied to the post you are working on. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
Hope this helps.

Glad to see it worked out.

Thanks Jason, I'm trying to picture how to carry 2 rigged spey rods on board. and still keep them low enough so not to interfere with the oars. The rods are 13ft. so naturally they will stick past the end of the boat which is fine. I was thinking about a simple wood piece with a hole large enough for the handle and then something for the rod blank to rest in at the other end. One rod on each side would work. Any and all ideas are welcome guys. Thanks, Robert
Check out Greg Hatten's rod holder systems. Go back to his early pictures from 3 or 4 years ago.

Thanks Rick, Went back through Greg's photos and found a pic of what may have been the start of a rod butt holder for three rods on his workbench but nothing more detailed. But being new to the site I could have very easily missed something. Robert

I used the search function and looked for Greg Hatten Rod Holders. Copy the info above and paste it into your search bar to see the info or do the search. I have read almost every post on the site and knew about Greg's setup.
