Finally got the Flycatcher, my slightly stretched Trapper out for a maiden voyage, drifting the lower Mckenzie from Armitage to Crossroads on the Willamette. Weather was March, nice at times, rain and hail others. Fishing was slow, one nice rainbow and a few LDR's.

There was a fair amount of debris in the river - on a much sadder note got home to news report that three fellows my age that were drifting by McNutt Island got caught in a strainer, one is presumed dead. My thoughts are with their family.

The Trapper performed admirably, easy to row, and my buddy thought it was a very easy boat to fish from (he owns a typical aluminum db). My anchor system worked great. Did have some trouble with my second hand oarlocks - I made the oarblocks with a 5/8" bore (pex pipe), and my oarlocks were undersized (about 9/16), and popped out a couple times, which was rather inconvienent and potentially dangerous - need some new oarlocks, but not sure which ones - my oars are about 2 3/16 dia. at the leathers.
