Contact Steve Steele, he should know best of all. He lives in Lebanon, Oregon. I won't post his info here but I just Googled him and his information is available. He apparently has a relatively complete record of all of his Dad's boats and should be able to best answer your questions.

No storage boxes.  No rear seats.  Shelf under the line deck came about in the late 80's or early 90's.  Anchor system was a pulley on the back of the stern;  the rope then passes through a hole in the stern;  it then runs under the guide's seat on the right, and to a pulley attached to the rear of the passenger seat support (2 ribs in front of the guide's seat);  the guides pulls the rope toward him/her, and it fastens into a jam cleat right by the guide's seat on his/her right hand.  I'd send photos, but my '87 Keith is at Steve's boat shop.  My '97 is here on the McKenzie, but it has a different anchor system put in after Keith passed away.  I was afraid to do it while he was alive.  I've kept my '87 as Keith built it in his honor.  When boats left his shop, they were sanded plywood;  he wouldn't finish them, leaving that to the customer (he did finish a few).  No glass or epoxy used on his boats.  The knee rest was padded in white vinyl (I think that is the fabric;  it is great, as my '87 padding looks great, and has never been redone).  seat back cushions and/or passenger bench padding was an option which came at extra expense, and they all were white, matching the knee rest padding.  All had chine protection.

Is the symmetry of the bottom or the rocker different from say a Hindman, Tatman, Hill, Ray's, etc.?

Do I understand correctly that he generally had a better grade of fir plywood?
