First float with my recently completed Baker.  Springtime fishing on the White in Arkansas is about as good as it gets here in the "mid-south."   I can tell becoming a skilled rower can take some time.  Thanks again for the resource here.

Heck yeah!!! Awesome pictures. I can't wait to finish my boat and hit the White River. Once the boats done we should have a southern float trip.

Mark: Nice job on the boat.  Get any fish slime on it? My son was out on the John Day and got smallmouths for fish tacos,  And my daffodils here in Maine are covered with 18" of snow!

Good Luck

Beautiful boat. The white really snaps! When you develop an appreciation for timing required to make maneuvers you will be well on your way. Traveling with your boat perpendicular to the current allows you to pull or push on the oars and quickly adjust your position. Eventually you will learn to place your boat at a 45 degree angle to the current. This "ferry" technique allows you to use your boat as a "sail" either with or against the current to move more swiftly.

Good luck with your learning.

Great job Mark! Email me some pics, I would love to put a couple on the website.
