McKenzie River Wooden Boat Festival is April 23rd this year

After some worries about the timing of Easter the date is now locked.

The show this year will be Saturday April 23rd at the same location. 49198 McKenzie Hwy Vida, OR.  97488.  That is at Eagle Rock Lodge nine miles East of Vida, OR and between milepost 34 and 35 on Oregon HWY 126 East.

 

Hours are officially 11:00 to five but people that are bringing boats are asked to show up the night before if possible or any time between 8:00 and 10:00 to get boats set up on the lawns.  This is a one day event.  Food is available for purchase with all proceeds going to the McKenzie River Guides Association which work hard for river safety and river clean up all along the McKenzie River.

 

I hope to see as many of you there as possible.  If not, I'm sure there will be a lot of photos posted here.

Thanks Randy,Looking forward to running the Grand(18' rubber) then trying to motor out to the show with the "Silver Steak" inspired boat to enjoy the McKenzie once again...and the great show you all put on.

Randy, here's an idea of what we might expect in the future!  Check out the number of people they expect, do you think you B&B could handle these crowds?  Looking forward to seeing you at the Oregon Wooden Boat Festival.  However it would be fun to attend this one too!

oofff,  That's 25k a day for four days.  We would have to be in downtown Seattle;)

Hope you are coming to the Festival again this year.... I know I owe you an "Oar" stand (which I haven't forgotten about - but haven't started yet either).  I've got a number of new little wood boat "gizmo's" to show you that you might like better.  I look forward to showing them to you and the hard time you will give me for my tardiness in delivering the goods.  ha ha

I am most definitely attending!  I planned my return trip from Mexico to coincide with the show.

By the way; had a 7 steelhead day trip end of January to a secret spot (I might share if the Oar stand is finished)!!!

Looking for new float partner for the Sat. morning drift!!!

Very good - I look forward to seeing you and trying to "pry" that secret spot from you.  I've got a few guesses already... In fact, I might've been just upriver from you - ha ha.

You looking for a passenger or a ride...?  I can arrange either one for you.  (I've got a few boat issues and I will try to be "finished" by float time.)

Very nice poster as the ones in the past have been.I'm stiil hoping to make it to this one with my brother and both our boats;it will be our first.  Jay
