Seat Frame Pattern

I have been looking for seat frame patterns similar to those built by Montana Boat Builders.  I have searched the site here and haven't found anything ( I may not be looking in the right areas).  I realize I could just by one seat from MBB and then use it as a template but I would rather not spend 166.00 on a seat.  I would be willing to pay someone here if they had a template similar to the MBB seats, or would love to work up a trade if someone would like to lead me in the right direction.

I am currently building a stitch and glue drifty. I have plans from Jason Cajune but the dimensions of the rope seat are ambiguous for the angle. Would you mind sending me your rope seat dimensions? I love the way your seats came out and I would greatly appreciate it

The MBB style of seat certainly looks cute and comfortable for passengers, but there are a couple of things to bear in mind:  If it is used for a row seat it will substantially limit your rowing power by preventing you from using your back and leg muscles.  And with the multitude of holes and edges they will be the highest maintenance items on a boat-- probably requiring as much time as the entire exterior of a bright finished Sapele/clear glass cloth boat.

Im building these seats for my boat too. Front and back. The guide seat will be a backless "tractor style" seat as not to limit the rower! Im not this far in my build but I have already considered this!

I bought the seat pattern from Boulder Boat Works shown in their custom boat photos. Will be building them soon. I redesigned the rower's seat by adding about 3 inches on the backrest as I need the support and I do not do whitewater rapids. I mostly fish lakes and the flat rivers of Montana every year.

I built one of these a few years ago - I used 3/4" white oak for the sides. If I did it again, I'd use thicker stock, perhaps 1". Snugging the rope up put a fair bit of stress on the sides.

Turns out I did build a second one, this time with 15/16" white oak. When you design your seat, plan the cross members carefully to deal with the tension created by the lacing. The thicker sides were a significant improvement.
