Jim, last summer someone else was asking about floating the the Jackson area. I did a quick search for snake River and got 11 pages of results. You might start there and see what you find.

ok, thanks Rick

Jim, and anyone else who would like info on the Snake in Jackson Hole, just give me a call and I will help you out the best I can.  Never to busy to help a fellow boater have a fun, safe float on our lovely River.

Jim, I am in the area and boat the river here in Jackson. All I will add is that if you are coming here and floating privately, I highly recommend the two stretches up in the park ...dam or pacific cr to deadmans, or deadmans to moose. The scenery is spectacular as is the fishing. Many less guided trips up there too. Some of the other stretches can be a zoo with guided trips in the summer, especially Wilson to South Park. I work on the lower stretches, and find that the easiest stretch for fishing is South Park to Astoria, although I work the stretch below more often and have just about as good a luck, but it helps to know a few of the holes. U will see quite a bit of traffic in these lower stretches, both tubers, privates and commercials... although the 2 pm bikini hatch down at South Park is not to be missed

Aj is a great resource here locally and fellow wooden boat fanatic, and I would always recommend giving home a buzz.

Thanks Chris.  What flows would you recommend as being optimum for either of those two stretches.

Jim

Any really. It goes all summer up in the park. Only gets too low in the late fall when they cut the dam back. Even then, the lower stretches are floatable all season long. Especially south park down. We were running trips at low water in November no prob.
