I am trying to replace the UHMW oar lock sleeves on my Tateman boat that I built 22 yrs. ago. I cannot get hold of Tateman Boats and I understand Randy Dresham is the new owner. Does anyone now how to get hold of him or know where these sleeves can be found?

Randy is the owner of this site and monitors it often. His son Sanderson runs the boat building and kit building operation. I just Googled UHMW sleeves and found numerous sources, however since they seemed to be industrial sites I don't kn ow the ease of purchasing sleeves from them. Perhaps McMaster Carr would be a source. www.msmaster.com
Good Luck,

Another option is to replace the entire oar block with umhw blocks. simply drill a few sets of 5/8" holes for your oarlocks. The stuff can get pricey fast. check ebay, or as rick suggests, mcmaster.
Hello David,
I'm Randy Dersham and I did buy Tatman boats about two years ago. Things are moving very slowly at the shop as Sanderson and I are both on big new journeys. Sanderson is finishing Respiratory Therapy school and I'm at a new job in San Francisco. I've taken down our website and will be revamping that for the pace we are able to work on boat building projects. You can always reach me here.
About four years ago we changed over to a solid UHMW oarlock block. We still carry the white UHMW oarlock sleeve but need to have them turned at a local machine shop. Today they are back ordered. I should have some in by the end of the first week of February. You can send me an email directly here or at randy.dersham @gmail.com
Steve has it right. There is nothing special about the sleeves other than we have hundreds made at a time. Anyone with a lathe and UHMW, and the measurements can do it.
Thanks every one. I called Willie Boats and they have them in stock so I purchesed them. I hope they fit correctly and I'll let you know.
Dave
