Jeff - so when is the new "site" going to be up and running? I want to be the first to sign up for "Stoned Boat People"... has a certain "ring" to it. Can't imagine some of the postings you'll get on that one (actually, I can)!!
GH
Greg, I am SO THERE!! Maybe in a year or two when I open a boat shop in Amsterdam, dedicated to learning the characteristics of the local craft and local leaf. I can cruise the canals and I'm sure a crowd of enlightened people can share their thoughts and knowledge...
so your Herreshoff got its' lines from China? Just kidding, I was in Ketchikan for a couple of weeks working on a sailboat and thought about yours. 1975 Fisher motor/sailer, not as pretty as yours and I doubt as fast. Ketchikan was nice but is sure is wet! I really do like living in dry Eastern Washington.

When are you starting your new Amsterdam operation? I can catch a flight from Seattle and be there in a few hours.

Hey Rick,
Nice to hear from you. Hope summer in Spokane has been good. Yes, the Fisher motorsailers are awesome, before we found the Herreshoff, I had been considering one of the 37 footers. Years ago I sailed back from Hawaii on a Freya 39, an Austrailian Sydney-Hobart racer from the early '60's; at the time(late '70's) I was working in a boatyard in the SF bay area and the Fishers were hitting the west coast. They are an British North Sea design and would be perfect for the coastal stuff in Alaska...
I'm waiting out a rainstorm in the Tokyo airport today, we're on our way home after a week in China, Cathy had a networking conference in Beijing. I'm looking forward to a few more days on the Snake when I get home to Jackson. Best, Jeff
