I've done it in a dory at 3,000 but never lower than that. It seems 5,000 is pretty ideal.

At 3k I think that the Narrows rapid might be a sneak move on the left.... but that was a long time ago. At 5k its a center run.

Its a beautiful river and at low water it definitely slows with lots of time to move around obstacles. Also, The road stretch is a reeaally long day at low water.
