Euphrates flew up to the loft today, where she'll hang out for final fairing and painting. Downstairs the next boat took shape. I sure wish all the other parts of building a boat were as fun as the hour-and-a-half of pulling a hull together. What fun. Here's hull #3, as yet unnamed. It'll be an open Rogue of the same style as the first two, but with the traditional wood floor, inner chines, etc and no decking. Epoxy/glass exterior, oiled interior. An all new odd assortment of boatbangers arrived for this one. Shore is purty so far:

Of all the things in my shop that went hideously over budget, the winch was a notable exception. $300 for the winch. The rails and trolleys were old river company cast-offs, donated to the cause. My buddies (where would I be without them) showed up to hoist and weld the whole thing together. It's one of the things that actually worked out better than my hallucinations. I giggle every time I use it.

I'm on time-out from the boats--I just cut the inner chine log a foot too short. Waitng for a new scarf to kick. Dad gum it!
