Well I got back on the horse and worked on my boat for the first time in over a year due to a serious back injury and assocated surgeries (8 total)...

Got my oar locks in and gave it a good sanding in preperation for another coat of epoxy...also put in a transome piece so I can mount a motor, out here in California there are a couple rivers like the Upper Sac that you have to motor up and drift back..because there is no place to put in up near the dam..

Still a little shakey in the knees so it takes me a long time to do simple things but I am only 3 weeks out from the last surgery...I have to say I missed working on the boat. I almost sold it when I got my prognosis back last April.

My next steps will be build forms for steambending some 4" wide stock for knee braces. Build seats, and use some kind of truck bed liner on the floor of the boat.

Also have lots of trim and finish work to do before I can commission her...

But again at least I am back up a mobile...Take care of your backs...I am only 40 and had 5 levels of my lower lumbar completely dessicated...its a long road out once that happens...

Anyway on brighter topics...cant wait to finish this boat..and get her on the water!!!!!

Hey good luck and start having some fun again!

Joe: sounds like a bad year.  I made steam benk kneelocks that are very comfortable.  If you want I can trace a pattern off the forms and mail them.

Good Luck
