HELLO, I'M CONSIDERING PURCHASING THIS BOAT BUT THERE ARE NO IDENTIFIERS ON IT THAT WE CAN FIND? IT'S 18' LONG, I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND MANY WITH THE STEERING ON THE LEFT EITHER. I'VE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND A HULL ID YET EITHER. NO TITLE TO BOAT. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT BEFORE I WIND UP WITH FIREWOOD, THANKS..

THE STEP PADS ON THE BOAT SAY STINGRAY? DOES THIS HELP AT ALL??

CORRECTION, IT HAS AN EMBOSSED STINGRAY ON THE PADS...

Tony, you might also try woodenboatforum, com. They do alot more with boats like yours.

a lot of boats in the 40's to the 60's had the steering on the left. I grew up with runabouts during that time and we had several boats left hand. I don't remember the name of that one but if the money is not to bad it would be a great restore. I know I would buy it.

Thanks John, it's an 18' boat. I'll be in it $1300 if I can identify it? No way to register it otherwise. Any ideas where to look for ID??

anything in the engine compartment? how much work needs to be done? if a lot of stuff needs to be done keep all reciets  and see if you can get it thru as a homebuilt. I don't know. I have seen this style before but can't remember the name. you may want to go over to wooden boat and post over there. am sure someone will know the boat. I'll look for the site and post here for you.

Tony, take a look at the comments from some experienced folks at woodenboatforum.com

Maybe there is some information to help you out.

I insured my drift boat as a homebuilt boat.  I just had to show all of my construction receipts.  Or you can look for an old beyond-salvage boat and liberate its manufacturer's plate.
