I'm back in the boatshop for a couple weeks after a four-month hiatus on the river. The Euphrates is nearly done, the Lodore is lagging but we're jamming to get her done for their mutual baptismal trip at the end of the month. A few shots attached.

Yeah, perhaps overkill. But back in the '70s, the first Briggs boats did not have those deck braces, and the gunwales were often getting wracked from the violence of some of the oar crabbing in big water. The braces cured that. It also gives you a safe place to tuck your sunglasses in behind there when the sun goes down.

Very nice. Those are some really beefy oar stations.
