Been mixing steelhead trips in with my boat building so progress has slowed a bit.
During the next few weeks I plan to get after it pretty good. We saw lots of boats on the river producing fish - which motivated me to get to work!
Here are a few pics of the latest work done on the boat. I have the transom and stem cut to the shape I want.
The casting deck, horns and knee board have all been fit into place. I used a slightly different approach to how the fly line deck goes in. It fits into the slot at the bow and then sits on top of the side supports. There is a support under the deck on the kneeboard as well. I was not in love with the gap that the cleats created, so I went this route to make it fit snug up front. Water can still run off on the rounded rear corners of the deck.
There are no pics of the horns yet - but I set them slightly further apart.
The plan for this week is to get the rest of the interior sanded out and hopefully start fitting the seats.
I also need to get some coats of varnish on the rails so I can bolt the rails down. (Right now they are bolted in a few spots)
Thanks for looking!
Jason
