I don't see an "event" listed about the Wooden Boat Festival 2014. Is it scheduled? Will there be a new poster? Just wondering.

The date is Saturday April 26th. You'll have to ask Randy about a poster. My plan is to be close to the Colorado River on that day, fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you look at it. I will really miss the Wooden boat festival, it is my favorite event of the year, but I can't turn down an invite to row the Grand Canyon. I turned down opportunities in the past and doubt I'll get many more chances. we'll see how it goes.

Thanks Rick. We'll miss seeing you. Have a "Grand" time.
Hello Jerry,
Rick is right, the McKenzie River Wooden Boat Festival will be on April 26th this year. That is the last Saturday. The poster is at the printer and will be available some time soon. I'll post the event info.
Say it ain't so Rick, you will be missed! I guess running the Grand is a viable excuse. Will you be running it in boats or Rafts?
Mike
17'6" NRS Hualapai Self Bailing. Everyone's rowing the same rafts, the group I am going with arranged for raft rental, food packaging, shuttles, camp gear etc. all from a Flagstaff, AZ company. My original rafting partner from the late 70's was invited along and he invited me. Never been in the Grand Canyon, I visited the South Rim in 1978. I turned down several trips back then and now I'm going to go. Tom Martin and Greg Hatten will be floating the river on two different trips just prior to our trip April 29th. If I didn't have to be there on Sunday the 27th I would go to the WBF too. I am considering dragging my boat along to try some fishing on the trip down and back, but that's still up on the air.
Rick
Well have fun Rick and make sure you make it out.
Mike
That's the plan!
