Hey fellas,

Well I am finally done with the bottom of the boat! I am happy with the results and ready to turn the boat over...

I installed the the false stem and chine caps. The chine caps proved to be a bit of a challenge as I am working alone... but after some negotiating they went on without too much trouble...

Fiberglass Bottom Install

Hey everyone - hope you all had a nice weekend.

I managed to get some time in on the boat... and get the fiberglass laminated to the bottom. (24 oz woven roving)

Having never really worked with fiberglass I was a bit apprehensive, but I have to say it turned out pretty good, and was not too bad to work with. It was cool to wet out the cloth and watch it go from thick white cloth to almost clear. Good thing about the bottom on these boats is they are flat, I could image laying cloth… Continue

Bottom Install 3.6.09 (Image Heavy)

Well I made time to get the bottom on the boat this past weekend... and now it is really starting to look like a boat!

I basically dry fit all the screws and did any last minute sanding to make a tight fit all around. Spent the afternoon making a mess with the 5200 and before you know it, it was glued and screwed on.



Last night I planed the overlap from the bottom to match the sides and used the belt sander to make it a smooth joint.
